FAQs
Find quick answers to the most common questions about our plumbing services. These FAQs cover what to expect, service details, and helpful tips to make scheduling easier.
Annual testing is the baseline standard set by most California water purveyors and county health departments. Some jurisdictions in LA County and Orange County require more frequent checks — every six months for medical, food-service, or high-hazard facilities. Plumbing Squad tracks your testing cycle, files the required reports with your water agency, and sends a reminder before each due date so you never get hit with a non-compliance notice. CSLB #1081283 lets us test, repair, and certify in one visit.
Yes — most failed RPZ (reduced pressure zone), DCVA (double check valve), or pressure vacuum breaker assemblies can be rebuilt in place same-day if we have the right parts on the truck. Common failures are spring-driven check disc wear, relief valve diaphragm fatigue, or fouled shutoffs. If the assembly is condemned, we replace with a like-for-like model (Watts, Wilkins, Febco, Apollo) and re-test for certification on the same call. We always provide a written test report.
Yes — water service to the protected building must be shut off briefly during testing or repair. For a typical commercial or residential assembly the shutoff is 5–15 minutes; for a full rebuild expect 30–60 minutes. We coordinate timing in advance — early morning, after-hours, or weekend slots — to minimize impact on tenants, customers, or critical operations. For multi-tenant buildings we notify each unit before shutdown.
Yes — Plumbing Squad services campus environments, HOA portfolios, multi-tenant retail, and restaurant groups across LA County and Orange County. We can dispatch a tester to multiple assemblies in a single visit, file consolidated reports to your water agency, and maintain a tracking spreadsheet for your facilities manager.
