Light residential clogs — hair, soap scum, food bits — snake fine with a 1/4" or 3/8" cable. Heavy commercial buildup, recurring kitchen-line grease, or root intrusion in a sewer lateral needs hydrojetting at 1,500–4,000 PSI to fully scour the pipe walls. Snaking punches a hole through the clog but leaves the buildup that caused it; jetting actually cleans the pipe. For Long Beach, Signal Hill, and older LA neighborhoods with 60+ year-old cast iron drain lines, periodic jetting (every 1–3 years) prevents recurring backups.
If the underlying defect causing the clog still exists, yes. We always identify root causes during the call — improper slope, belly in the line, root intrusion at a joint, fixture overuse without a strainer, grease accumulation from cooking habits, or aged pipe that's gone too rough on the inside walls. We show you what we found (camera if scoped) and propose the permanent fix. For drains that clog every 6-12 months, the right answer is usually pipe lining, spot repair, or rerouting — not another snake.
Yes — restaurant kitchen-line drain cleaning is a recurring service we run for many LA County and Orange County food operators. We schedule overnight or early-morning hydrojetting so service isn't disrupted, document each cleaning with before-after photos and camera footage, and recommend interceptor or grease trap maintenance intervals. Grease trap pumping plus quarterly hydrojetting is standard for high-volume kitchens. Call (866) 324-9553 to discuss a recurring schedule.
Camera inspection isn't included in a standard drain cleaning service but we can add it on the same call. For homes with recurring clogs, sewer lines older than 40 years, or anyone considering a real estate purchase, a sewer camera scope is the right diagnostic — it identifies root intrusion, bellies, offsets, cracks, or aged pipe condition that a snake can't reveal. We provide the video footage to you for your records. Plumbing Squad (CSLB #1081283) is licensed for both diagnostics and the repair work that often follows.
